PROMOTION/ADVERTISING/MARKETING/PRESS
With the festival being the largest in New York City, the marketing and advertising is directed towards the festival as a whole. NYCIFF works hard to promote and attract people towards ALL events during the week of the festival.
Our website will display the following of each accepted film (provided by the filmmakers):
– Title
– Director
– Short Synopsis
– Poster
– Trailer
– Screening: Date/Time/Place
The following are suggestions for all filmmakers with accepted films to promote:
CONTACT:
Reach out to consulates, embassies, and organizations that may be interested in your film, also interact with film schools and student filmmakers who would like to attend. Create press releases about your film and screening (date, time, and place) to be distributed among media contacts. Think outside the box and contact those who you know would be interesting in the message you reveal through your film.
POSTCARDS & FLYERS:
Marketing materials such as postcards and flyers can be sent to our office and we will take care of their distribution throughout New York City. Specifications: THE NYCIFF LOGO (NYCIFF will provide), DATE, TIME, AND PLACE OF YOUR SCREENING, any marketing material that does not fulfill these specifications will be discarded.
POSTER:
A printed poster is encouraged; posters are hung at the theater on the day of the screening. We recommend using a US company online and send it directly to NYCIFF office. Specifications: size 3’x4’ and THE NYCIFF LOGO (NYCIFF will provide), any poster that do not fulfill these specifications will be discarded.
– To retrieve a poster after the film festival, it can be picked up at the office or shipped AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE.
